Row of modern restaurant pendant light fixtures. Considerably smaller
than large or extra large drum shades, smaller retro drum shades are ideal
when you want to suspend the lighting lower in the space and blend in
with overall design. Although associated most closely with mid-century
modern design, drum-shaped shades can be used effectively in a wide
range of settings.
Whip-stitched edges, and neutral colors like cream and light earth-tone
colors like butterscotch, work well with reclaimed wood interiors. These
lamps were custom-fabricated for Lapellah Restaurant & Bar in Vancouver,
WA. Design by fix. Photo courtesy of fix studio and Lapellah.

retro drum pendant lamps
A row of 6″ diameter drum shade pendant lamps provides warm dining lighting at Genghis Khan restaurant in Kansas City, MO. These pendant drum shade lamps are available in any color with any optional pattern. They are ideal for smaller tables, and clustered or row hanging. They also work well in tighter spaces, such as these small tables against the wall. Small drum shades like these are better for smaller and more intimate tables. generally two to four people per table. Larger diameter shades are recommended for larger tables.
Keep in mind when installing light fixtures or hanging pendant swag lamps, that pendant drum shades shouldn’t be hung so low that they block diners’ views of each other across the table.
